Cost Efficient Monograms

As I mentioned earlier, I decided to print and cut my own monograms. So, I did just that! But now I'm thinking that I did them on the wrong color card stock! UGH! I clearly can't win for losing! But at least I know that it's an easy task.

Here are all of my monograms on one sheet. I used a ruler to draw very faint lines on them, using the marks that printed out on them.

At work, cutting my monograms. I bought the paper cutter from Hobby Lobby for $6.99.

I think that now that I've bought my own lime green paper, that I want to buy ivory paper for the invite, response cards, and belly band instead of the cream card stock I got from Michael's. I'll let the price be the deciding factor. I may just stick to what I have. I do know that people will only throw the invitations away... so, no sense in wasting unnecessary money!

I Did It!!!

I have crossed over from being a fiancée to being a wife!!! Yep, I did it! We got married on Sunday, January 9, 2011. No, it wasn't a spontaneous thing, it was planned, but I know how to keep a secret... kinna! lol. {All my Facebook friends knew.}

Our pastor married us in his study on Sunday morning. There were 9 people total in the room. It was very short, sweet, and intimate. I LOVED IT!!! There really isn't much to say about it. Everything went well.

My mom took one pic and that's all we have. Oh well. Sometimes one pic is enough. After the ceremony, we went to 9:00am service. We actually got married at about 9:45am, so we were clearly we were only in there for the pastors sermon. Then we went out to eat. We then went to a nice hotel downtown.

We still plan to have a celebration in May. It may or may not be a vow renewal. At this point, I cold really care less. I have other things I could put my energy towards. But I'll definitely keep everyone posted! I am still planning for WHATEVER it is we'll be having! LOL! Life is good!

My husband and me

Special thanks to my AA Knottie sister, Alf, for posting these shoes a while back! I told her I'd find a reason to own them! I got married in them!

Please Share!

I have decided to do Photo Share Cards. I know that I'm impatient when it comes to seeing pictures. Today, I designed my cards in less than 30 minutes. I'll be using a coupon from Vista Print for 250 free premium business cards AND free uploads. I'll only be spending about $17 for shipping and it's $12.99 for the full color back side of the card. I totally used one of my Knottie sister's, Pasma, words from her photo share cards found here. Here are my cards.

HAPPY YEAR OF NEWNESS!!!

Happy Year of Newness everyone!!! 2011, I believe, is going to be an amazing year! There are so many things in store for Babe and me. YAY! Let's make this a great one!

Monograms

I'm buying my paper for my invitations from Cards and Pockets. They also sale the 2x2 monograms for the belly bands. I was going to buy them, but someone reminded me that I could do them myself! So, I did just that! The ones I wanted from CP are $2.99 for 15 2x2 monograms. I was actually okay with that. {Well, I picked a different design so it was 20 for $2.99.} I went on Publisher and created a monogram very similar to the one on CP.

Mine:
{Sorry it's blurry, don't feel like trying to correct it.}

So, I went to Michael's yesterday with a 50% off coupon from Retail Me Not and bought a 50 pk of card stock for $2.15. That's less than I would have paid for 15 monograms from CP.

The one issue I had was the fact that the card stock doesn't exactly match the paper on the inside of the invitation! I really don't feel like searching for paper, and I refuse to pay CP $5.00 for 25 sheets of card stock. So, I'm at the point where I don't really care if it matches exactly. I'm sure I'm the only one that will really notice that. So, today, I will be printing out the monograms and maybe cutting them later. I'm going to do everything separate.

Also on my to-do list for the day is finding boxes for my card box and buying the envelopes for my STDs that came in day before yesterday. And I'll be addressing envelopes tomorrow and hopefully mailing out by Tuesday! Stay tuned!
