Table Numbers!

Now that the wedding is OVER, I can focus on my blog for a little while! I did my table numbers all by myself! I used Picnik by Google. I simply uploaded the pictures and added a number to them in one of our wedding colors. BAM! Table numbers!

The table numbers were one of my easiest projects. I got them printed at Sam's Club for about $0.17/each. I also bought 5x7 picture frames from Dollar Tree. They were really nice frames, too! Kind of like shadow frames.

For those of you trying to figure out what to do for table numbers, this is an easy project and a nice way to personalize your wedding even more!

Share the Wealth!

Well, really there's no money! lol. But I did redesign my photo share cards! I decided that 250 business cards from Vista Print was way more than I needed, so they will be on postcards instead. Here's the new design:

I love it. It kinna reminds me of our STD.

Bridesmaid Clutches

I've decided that I want my bridesmaids to carry clutches instead of bouquet. I just saw it as more economical. WELL, thanks to some girls on The Knot, I think that it might even out. Now I want to DIY {or just buy} these cute little clutch bouquets! I found a nice clutch here in town that I think will work, no DIY necessary.
I love how there's the big pretty flower thing going on in the middle. So cute. And we can buy them at whole sale price, which is a bonus. But here are some other clutches that I spotted online that I like. I know that if I attempted to DIY them, I wouldn't like the outcome, so I'm better off just buying the ones that I saw here in town.

I'm waiting on one of my bridesmaid's dress to come in. Then I will pick their clutches and shoes. This is going to be fun! But I'm ready for it to be over.

The Last of Boxing

I've ALSO completed my card box! It was very fun! It only took me so long because I took LOOOOONG breaks in between doing stuff to it. lol. Oh well. I finally got it done. Here's my baby:

I'm very pleased with the way it came out! I might do a tutorial later. I think that all together, the box cost me less than $30!

Invitations Completed?!

After forever and a day of putting these invitations together, they are COMPLETE!!! {Well, not all of them, but enough for me to be happy about it!} Not only are the invitations complete, but I finally figured out those blasted wrap-around labels! Here are some pix.

When you open the invitation:

I am in LOVE with my invitations! I will be finishing them up today. I just have to print out the remainder of the wrap-around labels and cut and print some more RSVP cards. Then put them all in envelopes! I WILL complete this today!!!

I've Been Inspired

I knew I was going to start back blogging, but I didn't know it would be so soon!!! I went to Hobby Lobby this evening to get some ribbon for my card box. I got 2 spools for less than $5, thanks to all ribbon being 50% off. So, I have ribbon and no idea what to do with it. So, I decided to Google images of "wedding card boxes". Here's my new inspiration.

Found here.
I pray that I can successfully do my ribbon like this! I got the kind with the wire, I think. So, I might want to go change it for this. I guess I need to find or make some brooches, too.

Found here.
I will buy some crystal rope from Michael's this weekend while they have their 50% off coupon out. I will find somewhere to put this on the boxes. Or, I might use some hotfix rhinestones that I already have to decorate the boxes. I'm not sure.

Well, this has been my inspiration. I plan to start working on my box this weekend or the beginning of next week. I hope it turns out to be a beauty!

I Have NOT Forgotten!!!

I have not forgotten about my blog, nor you lovely people that read it! I just really haven't had MUCH to say. Sorry. So, here's where I'm at....

I don't want to do ANYTHING wedding related! Well, that is anything related to MY wedding! Yeah, so I have less than 3 months. I have SO MUCH to accomplish at the time. Here's a list of what needs to be done so far.

To Do:
- Finish ALL invitations! I have 51 done. And I have pix of those for another post.
- Finish RSVP cards. Make sure I like the wording and print.
- Dang on wrap around labels!
- Finish card box.
- Redo the G in GODFREY for the cake table... long story.
- Food/cake tasting. Someone said the cake at my venue is NASTY! I'm scared!
- Programs
- Get photo share cards printed
- 2nd Photo session
- Photo guestbook
- Escort card chart
- Book a dang DJ

Ok, that's all I can come up with at the time, but CLEARLY, that's a whole lotta stuff to get done! AND I'm not going to ask anyone to help me do any of it... except for the escort card chart. With this long list of stuff to get accomplished, I have a lot to talk about on here! So, I hope to get back into the swing of posting. PLEASE forgive me for my neglect. It hasn't been on purpose... I'm just not feeling it lately. But I promise to be LIVE AT FIVE! lol.

More Boxing!

I have completed the painting of my boxes for my card box! I'm excited! I already had the green paint, and I got the blue paint from Michael's with a 40% off coupon, so it was about $2.91, I think. The blue looks black in my cell phone picture. Hopefully it will look blue with a real flash.

Now, I don't know exactly what I want to do with the box! lol. And I really don't know how to cut the holes in it and all of that. But I guess I'll figure it out. I have a couple other checks, but I want them to have their own posts because they are all very deserving! LOL! Any ideas for my box?!

Boxed In

I've been searching for paper mache boxes for quite some time, now! I've been to about 3 Joann's looking for them, but they only seem to sell them on their website. {That's dumb!} Michael's only had really little ones. Hobby Lobby never had the sizes that I wanted. So, I started to get really angry! So, today, I took my aunt's dog to the vet to get his shots. I had to leave him there, and there's nothing to do in that area so I drove to Baytown to check Babe's P.O. box.

I'd been waiting on my swatch from Henkaa to come, and it finally arrived!!! I like the shade of navy blue that they have. I will inform my bridesmaids probably tomorrow that they are clear to order their dresses!

Back to real matters:
While in Baytown, I stopped by their Hobby Lobby. What a great call on my part! THEY HAD THE BOXES!!! I bought 3. None were on sale, nor did I have a coupon, but I only spent about $14. I'm ok with that. I'm going to wait to have a coupon to buy my acrylic paint, which is on sale now for 25% off... so I MIGHT go get it.

I think I'm going to paint the boxes navy and lime, 2 navy, 1 lime. On the navy ones, I think I will add the same lime ribbon from the invitations and add navy ribbon to the lime one. Or I might decorate them some way and use the wide ribbon to tie into a bow at the top. I don't know what I'm going to do exactly. We'll see.

Here's a pic of how I think I want the boxes to be stacked.

Well, I do plan for them to be centered! LOL! I actually want a bigger square box for the bottom, but I can't find one. I hope I end up finding one because I have a GREAT idea for the large bottom box!

I Want a Convertible...

DRESS, that is!!! I want one AND my bridesmaids will be wearing them! Thanks to one of my AA Knottie sisters for referring me to Henkaa. I already ordered a sample swatch from them so that I can make sure that they order the correct color. They mixed up my shipping address, so it will be sent to our P.O. box, which is NOT in this city. Hopefully it will be there by next week. I can't wait to get it! I told the girls that they can order their dresses in their own timing, as long as they have them by the wedding day. No sense in me stressing over them getting their dress. I want these dresses for my girls because they can be uniformed but not identical... if that makes sense. I'm allowing them to pick how they want to wear their dress. That's another something that I'm not interested in allowing to stress me out. I also like these dresses because they're something that the girls can wear again and again. Don't you hate those stupid bridesmaids dresses that cost a lot of money and you can never wear them again? What a waste! Here are some of the wraps I like, in no particular order.

Hopefully my girls can successfully tie these dresses! LOL! I know I'm not going to know how to do it. I was telling Babe that there are tutorial videos on the website. So, I need them to practice ahead of time. They better buy those dresses in time to get about a weeks worth of practice in. lol. I'll let them know that!

Some Paper Work

I've finally sent out my beautiful STDs!!! I still have some more to put in the mail, but they are signed and sealed... just need to be delivered to USPS. I've also started the construction of my lovely invitations! Here's how I saved some money... as I talked about earlier.

I bought a package of 250 sheets of lime green paper {$13} from O-K Paper. I also bought a package of 250 sheets of natural white, classic linen paper {$20} from there. I printed out my invitations on one sheet of paper, as well as my RSVP card. Babe took the invitations and RSVP card to Staples. He got copies of the invitations and the lady cut them. He also got the RSVP cards cut to size. {The lady forgot to copy them first, so I'll just have to print them myself.} Then we went back with the green paper and got it cut to size. {$4+$6=$10} Then I assembled the invitations {natural white paper} to the mats {lime green paper} with a glue stick. {$1 for a pack of 3} When I glue the rest of the invitations together, if the invitations are coming up from the mat, I'll use Goop {$3} from Big Lot's to glue it. I did all my assembling last night. This morning, I ordered my blue folds and matching envelopes from Cards and Pockets. {$74}
So far, I've spent about $121 on my invitations, including the ribbon that I bought a while back.

My cut invitations and mats.
My completed stack.

Side shot.

As you can ALSO see, I changed the graphic on my invitations! The one that I had previously looked as if my printer was running out of ink when printed. I didn't want that. So, this is where I am in the invitation process.

THE Place

So... as of Thursday, January 24, 2011, our venue has been BOOKED! Like, booked for real... like we actually gave them a deposit!!! Yes, I've talked about 2 other venues in the course of this blog, BUT this is THE ONE!!! When I first stepped in the place, I KNEW I had to have it! This place has everything that the last place had AND SOME!!! I didn't want to post the name, but why not?! My venue is Bella Elegante located in downtown Houston! It is such a beautiful venue! And there's a beautiful park across the street for great pictures. I'm so happy about this check! It's one of the biggest checks ever! Oh, next post is about my dress shopping experience!

Revised: Here're my pix!

This is the beautiful chandelier when you first walk into my venue.
This is the mirror right outside of the door to the room.
This is the view of the room when you first walk in.

Another view.
This is the back of the room. The pretty bookshelves over the fire place and one of two flat screen TVs.

Some things in the room will be changed before my wedding! New carpet and the construction of a wall where the servers come out. I'm so anxious!

I'm SUCH a Loser!!!

Yeah, I'll admit it! I haven't posted in AGES... it seems like. I do have A LOT of things to post, but since I don't have the pix that I want on this computer, I'm trying to wait. Here's what's happening:

- I OFFICIALLY booked my venue.
- I'm blinging out my cake table letters.
- I've started constructing my invitations.
- And I'm sure there's so much more! I'll be updating stuff tomorrow! {I hope.}

Cost Efficient Monograms

As I mentioned earlier, I decided to print and cut my own monograms. So, I did just that! But now I'm thinking that I did them on the wrong color card stock! UGH! I clearly can't win for losing! But at least I know that it's an easy task.

Here are all of my monograms on one sheet. I used a ruler to draw very faint lines on them, using the marks that printed out on them.

At work, cutting my monograms. I bought the paper cutter from Hobby Lobby for $6.99.

I think that now that I've bought my own lime green paper, that I want to buy ivory paper for the invite, response cards, and belly band instead of the cream card stock I got from Michael's. I'll let the price be the deciding factor. I may just stick to what I have. I do know that people will only throw the invitations away... so, no sense in wasting unnecessary money!

I Did It!!!

I have crossed over from being a fiancée to being a wife!!! Yep, I did it! We got married on Sunday, January 9, 2011. No, it wasn't a spontaneous thing, it was planned, but I know how to keep a secret... kinna! lol. {All my Facebook friends knew.}

Our pastor married us in his study on Sunday morning. There were 9 people total in the room. It was very short, sweet, and intimate. I LOVED IT!!! There really isn't much to say about it. Everything went well.

My mom took one pic and that's all we have. Oh well. Sometimes one pic is enough. After the ceremony, we went to 9:00am service. We actually got married at about 9:45am, so we were clearly we were only in there for the pastors sermon. Then we went out to eat. We then went to a nice hotel downtown.

We still plan to have a celebration in May. It may or may not be a vow renewal. At this point, I cold really care less. I have other things I could put my energy towards. But I'll definitely keep everyone posted! I am still planning for WHATEVER it is we'll be having! LOL! Life is good!

My husband and me

Special thanks to my AA Knottie sister, Alf, for posting these shoes a while back! I told her I'd find a reason to own them! I got married in them!
